San Diego Housing Market Update Aug 12-18, 2022
Interest rates are climbing again on bad Inflation news coming out of Germany and the UK. Although US inflation fell last month, the bad international inflation news is impacting interest rates here. This plus the nations homebuilders are saying we're in a "housing recession" is hitting the news cycle.
I've been talking about the downturn for a while now - since May - so if you've been following along this may not be much of a surprise. But now that the Media is picking up the story, it likely will cause more buyers to sit on the sideline and perhaps sellers to sit out as well. We'll see how this plays out as buyer demand will be reduced. But if inventory levels continue to fall, then home prices may continue to remain stable.
